Who could have thought that today’s generation would idealize pirates and wear their costumes at the fun filled events and costume parties. They were thieves and dacoits of the seas but today we have made them heroes. Sometimes I think not to wear the pirate costumes but people like to see all of us only these pirate costumes. Same is the demand at my home. My son love wearing boys pirate costumes. He does not like any other fancy costume. At every function, he wants to wear a new styled boys pirate costume. I thought that this style has stuck in his mind and I should make him aware of the importance of other fancy costumes as well. However; recently, I attended a costume party of young children and I was surprised to find out that almost all the children were wearing the pirate costumes. Even the girls were wearing the same costumes with minor changes to give those a girlish look.

The love for pirate costumes has changed the thinking of the people. Now a negative personality can also be presented in a positive form and this all has been made possible by the media. Interesting stories, novels, books and movies produced by the media world has made the negative personality a famous and loving personality. Some people do not like this thing and argue that if you induct negative aspects into your life, you also become negative and you lose the difference between good or bad. Some even suggest that loving bad things means you have become a bad personality. On the other hand some people have different views and they suggest that enjoying bad things in a positive manner does not mean that you have also become bad. They insist that wearing pirate character costumes would not make the minds of children negative. This is an ongoing debate but the young generation does not want to indulge it and just want to enjoy the life.
