Pirate Costumes form the movies

Penny Rose, a wonderful costume designer was chosen to make the pirate costumes for the series of Pirates of the Caribbean which starred Johnny Depp as the main character, Captain Jack Sparrow. Rose had been working for the film industry since 1970’s and she has till now been nominated 3 times and has won the Satellite Award for Best Costume Design and Saturn Award for Best Costume, for the films of the series of the Pirates of the Caribbean.

For Depp’s character she worked alongside Depp to create a very impressive pirate costume for his role, adding many realistic and unique features such as the many objects hanging in Sparrow’s dreadlocks and his signature leather hat. Having much experience, Rose was able to give Sparrow the proper look needed for a witty, cunning pirate, the look that Depp was able to carry with his role very efficiently, especially in the second movie of the series, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest.

In Dead Man’s Chest, the story of the first movie is continued and it begins with Orlando Bloom as Will Turner and Keira Knightley as Elizabeth Swann preparing for their wedding when all of a sudden Lord Beckett arrives, crashing their plans to be wed and sentences them to be hanged to death for helping Jack Sparrow escape. Beckett promises to lift all charges from Will and Elizabeth only if Will helps him in capturing Jack for Lord Beckett and bring his magic compass as well. Meanwhile, Sparrow is in search of Davy Jones’ heart, the Captain of the ghostly Flying Dutchmen, hoping to get rid of him once and for all before Davy Jones gets to him and takes Sparrow’s soul to eternal damnation and servitude to the Flying Dutchmen because of a promise that Sparrow once made to Davy Jones. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest is another thrilling and gut wrenching adventure presented by the excellent acting expertise of Johnny Depp.
