Kids quickly become pirates

My son is wearing a pirate costume and waving his hook in the air to show his powers. But, I am not worried to see him behaving like a criminal person as this costume is the most favorite these days and you can find lot of people wearing pirate costumes in parties and functions. I also have bought one for myself.

Pirates are present in this world since ages. Pirates are the sea-thieves and bad people. Pirates have been a favorite character of story writers and in recent times, this character has been glorified through some great famous pirate films. The movies have not only glorified the character but also have created interest in the pirate costumes. In all the social gatherings and functions, you will find gents, ladies and kids wearing pirate costumes. The pirate costume includes:
• Pirate pistols
• Flags and poles
• Wigs
• Boots
• Swords
• Eye cover
• Belts
• Wooden legs
• Pirate ship
• Metallic hook
• Hat
• Ear-rings
• And other accessories
I have failed to understand that despite having a bad reputation, why people love to wear pirate costumes. You can also include me in the list of pirate costume lovers. I discussed this aspect with a friend and he said that it was the look of the costume that is very interesting and different from the norm. Therefore, people like this costume and wear at all social occasions.
There are many stories of the Pirates which are exciting to hear and wonderful to imagine. Pirates were bad and people always feared them; however, there are stories of some good pirates too. Those good pirates looted the wealth of rich and distributed that among the poor and needy. Those pirates had self-respect and never asked for help from others. That is why they always wore gold ear-rings so when they died; their funeral expenses were covered through those gold ear-rings. I always imagine being a good pirate of olden days.

What a wonderful gift it is for a child to be read a pirate story at night before going to sleep. They are based on a degree of truth and history unlike many sci fi stories, so there is a ring of authenticity about them. This is compounded by the charisma of the character in the pirate films we see advertised today.
